Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will focus on acclimatization to prepare for high-altitude travel in the coming days. Staying in Kyirong is crucial to prevent high-altitude sickness, allowing our bodies to adapt to the reduced oxygen levels. We can take a walk around the city or go for a brief hike to help our bodies adjust to the environment and altitude.

After breakfast, we will drive to Saga, a town situated on the banks of the Brahmaputra River, approximately 105km from Kyirong, taking around 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Horchu on the east coast of Lake Mansarovar, we will change transportation and begin our Holy Lake Mansarovar Parikrama (circumambulation) in a clockwise direction. In the morning, we will have a bath and perform puja at Lake Mansarovar. Afterward, we will head to Tarchen (also known as Darchen), located 35km north of the lake at the foothill of Mt. Kailash. We will start our trek from Yama-Dwar to Deraphuk, covering about 10km in 5-7 hours, depending on the pace. The trail is mostly flat and moderate, with a steep ascent near Deraphuk, which is at an elevation of 4,920m.

The trek to Zuthulphuk is the most challenging part of the kora due to the high altitude and steep ascents and descents. We will trek through rocky mountains to reach Zuthulphuk, 22km from Deraphuk. Early in the morning, we will start our uphill trek for about an hour until the trail becomes a gentle ascent at around 4,900m elevation.
After approximately 4 hours of uphill hiking, we will reach the highest point of the trip, Dolma La Pass, at 5,800m. Crossing this pass, we will descend to the beautiful glacial lake, Gauri Kunda. The trail then rapidly descends to the base of Gauri Kunda, taking 1-2 hours through rocky terrain. From there, a comfortable 2-hour walk will lead us to Zuthulphuk (4,820m).
