This is your first day in Nepal. A Discover Altitude representative will meet you at the Kathmandu International Airport and take you to your accommodation.
The day begins with an early flight to Lukla (2,840m), offering breathtaking Himalayan views. After a tea/coffee break, the trek starts with an easy descent through Chauri Kharka, crossing a glacial stream and passing Buddhist mani walls and Sherpa villages like Thado Kosi and Ghat. A peaceful forest trail then leads to Phakding (2,610m) for an overnight stay, allowing gradual acclimatization.
The 7-hour trek from Phakding (2,610m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing Monjo and entering Sagarmatha National Park. After crossing the Hillary Suspension Bridge, the trail steepens, offering the first Everest view at Top Danda. A final uphill push leads to Namche Bazaar, a lively Sherpa town perfect for rest and acclimatization.
Take a five-hour trek to Shyangboche (3,880m) for acclimatization and breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam after touring Namche Bazaar (3,440m). Before returning to Namche, the serene surroundings provide the ideal Himalayan experience as you pass the Everest View Hotel, Sherpa settlements, and stupas.
Today is a descend back to Lukla, retracing the trail through , Monjo, and forests. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River and having lunch in Phakding, you’ll pass through Sherpa villages to reach Lukla, where you’ll overnight before your flight back to Kathmandu.
After breakfast on this final day in the Nepalese Himalayas, we will board a plane to return to Kathmandu. The flight will take about thirty minutes. We will eventually reach Kathmandu, saying goodbye to the Khumbu region's highlands and Himalayas via the glass panel of our aircraft.You will be escorted from the airport to your accommodation by a Discover Altitude consultant.
On this last day of your trip to Nepal, a Discover Altitude representative will take you to the Kathmandu international airport at the appointed hour so you may catch your journey home safely.
