Embark on a memorable overland journey from Lhasa to Kathmandu, crossing the awe-inspiring Tibetan Plateau and the majestic Himalayas. This unique route offers breathtaking views, ancient monasteries, and a deep immersion into the rich cultural heritage of both Tibet and Nepal. From the iconic Potala Palace to the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, this journey promises an unforgettable experience of natural beauty and spiritual discovery.
Upon arrival at Lhasa Airport, you will be transferred to the city, located 95 km away, with a scenic drive of approximately two hours. The journey will take you along the Yerlung Tsangpo River and the Lhasa Kyichu River, offering picturesque views as you approach the ancient capital of Tibet.




After breakfast, visit Potala Palace, a historic seat of both religion and politics in Tibet, originally built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo and later renovated by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. In the afternoon, explore Jokhang Temple, Tibet's holiest shrine, home to the golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha brought by Princess Wenchen of China. Conclude with a visit to the Barkhor Market.




After breakfast, visit Drepung Monastery, the largest Gelugpa sect monastery in Lhasa, founded in 1416 by Jamyang Chöje, a disciple of Tsongkhapa. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, located north of Lhasa, established in 1419 by Jamchen Choeji, another disciple of Tsongkhapa. Sera is one of the three major monasteries of the Gelugpa sect in Tibet.


In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse, crossing the Gampala Pass (4790 m) with a glimpse of Yamdrok Lake (4400 m) and views of Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191 m). Along the way, pass the Korola Glacier and stop at Manak Dam Lake to hang prayer flags at Simila Mountain Pass. Arrive in Gyantse, Tibet's third-largest city, and visit the Pelkor Monastery, Gyantse Kumbum, and enjoy views of Gyantse Fortress. After a 1.5-hour drive, reach Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city, where you may visit a traditional barley mill and view the barley fields (in summer).








In the morning, visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the home of the Panchen Lama. After obtaining your Alien’s Travel Permit, depart Shigatse and drive to Lhatse for lunch. Continue through Tsola Pass (4600m) and Gyatsola Pass (5248m) before entering the Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve. At Gawula Pass (5198m), enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Drive along the new zigzag road to Everest Base Camp (5200m), where you can get closer to Mt. Everest. If time and weather permit, enjoy the sunset over the golden peak of Everest at the lodging area.







In the morning, weather permitting, enjoy a stunning sunrise over Everest Peak from the lodging area. Afterward, visit the Rongbu Monastery, the highest monastery where both monks and nuns reside. Then, trek to Everest Base Camp (4 km) or take the Eco bus for a closer view of Mt. Everest.
Following the visit, drive to the Gyirong border, passing the breathtaking Mt. Shishapangma and Pekutso Lake. After crossing Ghungtang Lhamo (5236m), arrive in Gyirong by late afternoon.










The tour guide will assist clients with the exit procedures from China before continuing the drive to Kathmandu.
